1. Joker

Don’t be surprised to see Joker being called for an Oscar nomination as director Todd Phillips did an amazing job in portraying Batman’s arch-nemesis in a light that we’ve never previously been able to see. Between Heath Ledger’s rendering of the Joker and Joaquin Phoenix’s, this move is definitely not the same role. While Heath Ledger’s joker was more dark and sociopathic, Joaquin’s joker tells a story of a man being cast out from society, beaten, laughed at, and generally being treated as less than human. Without telling you too much, Joker is a movie that we will be talking about for decades! Maybe it’s finally time for DC to retake the superhero movie throne.

2. Rambo Last Blood

Directed by Adrian Grunberg with Sylvester Stallone (obviously) as the notorious John Rambo, Last Blood is probably the movie that we didn’t expect to see just a year ago. After nearly four decades since John Rambo drew first blood, he is back for more. John Rambo has one last final mission to do, to exact revenge in a manner we’ve never seen before. The movie has new never-before-seen elements with Rambo movies, but it seems that Last Blood hits more on the nostalgic level than on borderline genius.

3. Gemini Man

Gemini Man stars Will Smith as the main protagonist, Henry Brogen. In Gemini Man, Henry is an elite assassin who’s suddenly being targeted by a mysterious young operative who can seemingly predict his every move. According to bestinau.com.au, the director, Ang Lee, has managed to diversify opinions on this movie. Some praise it for being an authentic movie with an original screenplay, while others say that action-packed movies are slowly becoming outdated, and Will Smith certainly is.

4. Avengers: Endgame

You would be surprised to find out that Avengers: Endgame would be on this list, wouldn’t you? However, the stats suggest that Avengers: Endgame still carries the hype. For those who haven’t seen it, it’s the last movie of the franchise. After Thanos wiped out half of the universe with a snap of his finger, the Avengers are out for revenge. However, their ranks are completely decimated after the snap, with only Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Captain Marvel, War Machine, Nebula, and Rocket ( the rest aren’t important) are still left. The likes of Spider-Man, Black Panther, Bucky, Star-Lord, and Groot, amongst others, don’t.

5. The Addams Family
