Life is fast-paced. One minute you’re having the time of your life with your pals at school while the next, you’re stuck in college, all clueless and alone. It’s a difficult or rather intimidating time in a student’s life. It’s new and it’s undoubtedly rough with so much on your plate. Not only the workload, the pressure of being good at everything can overwhelm you and result in adversity.

If you’re a freshman trying to have a good time at college without having to compromise on important things like classes and your grades or are just a High School Senior, trying to gear up for college, here is a fantastic guide for you to follow to have the four most amazing years of your life at college!

1. Prioritize, as much as you can

Prioritizing is the key to college. It is what gives your daily life some direction and you – some perspective. With that said, it is a skill you must not snooze on. It works as the key to having more time to have fun. The best way to prioritize is to keep a journal. Now, a journal doesn’t necessarily have to be a fancy, expensive one, it must be a functioning one. Start with baby steps by jotting down all the things that you are required to get done before each day and try to build it up by sticking to things from the most important to the least important.

Having a priority list every morning will help you start your day on the right foot. You will have less time stressing out about what you might be forgetting and more time to get stuff done. Now, it is imperative to understand that studies are important and must be your topmost priority but there should be days you must keep it on the far end. This will allow you to have more time to socialize and generally have some fun time with your friends at a weekend party. For nights when assignments seem too much to handle and all you want to do is a party – do it! Leave the boring assignment for someone else like PaperHelp to do as they can help you with writing.

Online services such as these understand that you have a lot of work with your studies and writing isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Sometimes, you have to request help and do these writing tasks.

2. Explore your options

College provides its students with infinite options. These options range from having a variety of courses to choose from to going on exchange programs anywhere in the world. With so many courses on hand, college allows you to study courses like music, arts, history, etc. which might not even be related to your major. These courses not only will help you learn a new skill but will shine brightly on your resume as well. Further, college is far and more beyond the classroom and set curriculum.

With so many courses you get to travel to learn alongside, a lot more exciting things. With that said, the most famous among the students is the exchange program. Various college across the country have this program which lets you live or rather study in a whole new college in another state or even country for a semester or two at the same college tuition. This program lets you enjoy while also studying.

Moreover, with the aforementioned options available on campus for exploration, there are numerous things you can do outside campus while you’re at college. One such thing is taking up an internship. Look up causes or even organizations which align with your future plans or are just interesting to you and try to start as an intern there. This will allow you to not only enjoy your extra time but will also provide you with a glimpse of what your future might look like!

3. Take care of your well being

College tends to stress students out both emotionally and physically. The amount to pressure to be good at everything can turn toxic if you don’t control it. It is important to take a step back every once in a while to take a step back and take a deep breath. Try to set your days off like Sundays just to spend time with yourself or what they call for some ‘’ me’’ time. Indulge in activities that make you feel like you like reading or watching a documentary about mummies. This will allow you to be relaxed without spending too much money.

Further, another great way to take care of your mental health is by hitting up your old friends or even family for a nice chat. It shouldn’t necessarily about what you’re going through but about their experiences and life. With that, on long weekends like that of Labour Day Weekend, you can always plan something like a road trip with your folks to really de-stress and feel rejuvenated.

Moreover, with mental health, you must not neglect your physical health either. With something important by the corner, the first thing students lose is their sleep. Sleeping is as important as breathing. It must never be compromised. It is imperative that you take at least 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep to be able to function properly the next morning. Having an interrupted sleep the night before, you will not only be fresh-minded but will also feel active to take on the world!
